                                ORDINANCE NO. 9674
        
        
                   AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 6958, AS
                   AMENDED, THE ZONING ORDINANCE, SO AS TO
                   TO AMEND ARTICLE V, SECTION 1122 RELATIVE TO
                   COMMERCIAL HAZARDOUS WASTE PROCESSING AND
                   STORAGE FACILITIES IN THE FLOOD HAZARD ZONE.

              	   WHEREAS, the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Regional
         Planning Commission has reviewed the referral by the 
Chattanooga
         City Council of a proposed amendment relating to Commercial
         Hazardous Waste processing and storage facilities and 
recommends
         adoption of said amendment;
              	   WHEREAS, the Hazardous Waste Task Force has reviewed
         the referral of the proposed amendment relating to Commercial
         Hazardous Waste processing and Storage facilities and 
recommends
         proposed amendment; and
              	   WHEREAS, there is a public need to so amend the
         Zoning Ordinance.
                                 NOW, THEREFORE,
              	   SECTION 1.  BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
         CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That Ordinance No. 6958, as
         amended, the Zoning Ordinance, be and the same is hereby 
amended
         as follows:
              	   1.	That Article V, Section 1122 be amended by adding
         a new subsection (10) as follows:

                   (10)	Commercial Hazardous waste processing and
                        storage facilities shall not be allowed.
                  
         	   SECTION 2.  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that this Ordinance
         shall take effect two weeks from and after its passage as 
required
         by law.
